World Circus Culture, a feature documentary film, needs help finishing!
See how you can be a part of the film and watch videos at http://www.indiegogo.com/World-Circus-Culture-Documentary

After filming all over Europe, the US, Canada, and Peru, editing has begun on the film. Director / Producer Angela Snow, and Emmy Award winner editor, Emma Morris, are putting 200 hours of circus footage together to reveal the behind the scenes life, history, and culture of circus on an international scale as never seen before.

World Circus Culture, follows five circus acts from different countries as they rehearse and compete at the 2010 International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo. The five acts that are followed closely in the film are Cirque du Soleil Russian Bar Act, the Duss Family Sea Lions, Rob Torres the Clown, Troupe Yakubov the Strap Act, and Martin Lacey, Jr. the Lion Act. A video of Martin Lacey Jr. and his lions in Stuttgart has been watch over 12,000 times and can be seen here - http://youtu.be/GW9Oa15_NC8

The final interviews conducted for the film were with Kenneth Feld, the owner of Ringling Bros., Paul Binder, the founder of the Big Apple Circus, and the owner of a tiny circus in the middle of the jungle of Peru. Each had an interested perspective on circus. Paul Binder spoke about its evolution how circus used to be about competing with film and TV, but now it’s more a competition with computers. Even in the tiny town in Peru, circus people are the same, as the 3rd generation owner of the circus explained that circus “runs in my veins”. With the rehearsals for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s next seasons “Dragons” show in the background, Kenneth talked of the business of circus and the “international city” that a traveling circus really is.

In this day and age, filmmaking is a very social and collaborative effort and filmmaker, Angela Snow, is testing these new methods with an online fundraiser to raise $12,000 in 30 days.
